Arthur (Butch) Godin, 70, of Kenton, MI formerly of Green Bay/DePere,WI passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 45 yrs. Jane. Sisters: Patsy & Bill Jose and Donna & Ted Ruleford. Butch was preceded in death by sisters and brother in laws: Ann & Russ Russel, Emma & Jim Fugate, Betty & Chuck Shumate & Doc Holiday, June & Jerry Fischer, brother Bob & Ilene Godin.
Butch was born October 21st, 1946 to the late Arthur and May (Louis) Godin. Butch served in the Army in 1967-1969 during the Vietnam War as a SP5. He was a member of the 20th Brigade of Engineers, earning a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Butch married the love of his life, Jane DeMoulin, on September 11, 1971. Butch retired from Quality Insulators of Green Bay, WI after 30 yrs. of service and moved to the UP. He was a member of Parker, Joe, Stockwell American Legion Post 66 in Silver Cliff, WI.
Butch was an avid sportsman. He loved fishing and hunting with his wife and friends. He was a good story teller who enjoyed sharing a good practical joke. Butch was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to thank the doctors , nurses, vascular and oncology staff at the Veterans facilities in Ironwood and Iron Mt., MI and Milwaukee, WI for all their loving care over the past three years. The family would also like to thank the EMT staff from Sonco, MI, state troopers Pat Butler & Mike Mariveza, and Deputy Jack Griggs of Ontonagon County Sheriff Department.
