Carl John Domitrovich, age 88, died peacefully in his home on March 16, 2017, surrounded by family.

Carl was born to Frank and Mary Domitrovich on the family farm outside Ontonagon, Michigan, on May 24, 1928. He was the second of nine children. Carl graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1946.

He worked the family farm, and he and his brother George started a logging company together. In 1961, he married Janet Morin. They built their own home on the Domitrovich Farm and raised 5 children there. Carl spent his entire life farming and logging, teaching his children the importance of a good work ethic. Carl loved deer hunting, working in the garden, woodworking, building camps, including the Stein Club, of which he was a founding member. He had a chain saw in his hand, making firewood any chance he could get, up until the last few months of his life.

Carl’s life revolved around his faith. He was a lifelong, very active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was unwavering in his faith, living his life as Jesus taught. He was a kind, considerate man, who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, and five children: Lucy (Brian) Roberts, Joe (Monica) Domitrovich, Betsy (Warren) Morphew, Peter (Tami) Domitrovich, and Margaret (Bill) Stecker, fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers Stanley, Tony, and George and his sister Dorothy. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank and Martin, and sisters Helen and Mary L
