Doris Mae (Lamoureaux) Croteau 84 of Ontonagon passed away July 18, 2016 at our Lady of Mercy in Hubbell.

She was born in Ontonagon on April 19, 1932 to Roy & Lyla (Roehm) Lamoureaux. She was raised on the family farm. Doris graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1950. Upon graduation, she studied to be a Lab Tech.

On June 24, 1951 she married Thomas Croteau at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon. Doris was a life time member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Ontonagon County Historical Society.  She worked at Syl’s Country Kitchen for many years.

Doris was happiest when surrounded by her family. Among her greatest pleasures were camping and picnicking at “Camp Confusion” on Courtney Lake, flying with her husband in his single engine plane and preparing family holiday meals. She also enjoyed playing scrabble and cards, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Lois, sister Shirley Maki, brother William, daughter-in-law Karla and special friend George Wentala.

Doris is survived by her children Patricia (William) Fezzey, Kathleen (Steven) Pragacz, Norman (Kathy), Carol (Mark) Anderson & James (special friend Joanna), her brother Robert (Ruth) Lamoureaux, her grandchildren Richard & Aaron (Hilary) Fezzey, Amy & Matt  Lefebvre, Jason & Michael (Codi) Pragacz, Courtney Croteau, Levi (Laura) & Zachary (Sandy) Anderson & Thomas, Floyd & Tyler Croteau. Great-grandchildren Claudia Fezzey, Kody, Kaden, Jaelyn, Peyton & Lyla Pragacz, Cole & David Therault, Brayden Croteau & Rilee Lefebvre and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

A Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 25th at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon. Friends may call at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon on Sunday, July 24th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ontonagon.

The family would like to thank all the personnel at Our Lady of Mercy and Aspirus Keweenaw for their loving and compassionate care of our mother. God bless you all.
