Jim was inspirational to me. I so admired his caring and compassion. I knew of his total commitment to his patients, his continual medical education, his family and friends. I loved my many hours spent with Jim and Flossie, in golf competitions at Boyne. Jim and I often enjoyed practicing on the range alone, as we continually tweaked our swings. I learned so much from Jim and Flossie. Among the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Thanks Jim and Flossie, for crossing my path.

We express both our sorrow at Dr. Jim's passing and our great joy at knowing him and your family. Sue was sick with an auto immune disease that would not get under control when we moved into the parsonage next door to the office. Doc helped us through ten years of up and illness before it went into remission. We will never forget his professional care of us through our 25 years in Ontonagon. Just as endearing was he and Flossie's personal concern for us and our family. We fondly remember the extra time they gave us and the mentoring and love they gave Erik when he and Shawn worked for them.

To Joe and Siblings,
We lost a great physician and a wonderful Father with the passing of Dr. Jim. He touched so many lives throughout his career. He was extremely passionate about medicine and what he did throughout his life. You can tell by his legacy, and the wonderful children he leaves behind. Please accept our thoughts and prayers in this time of sorrow.
I had the pleasure of working with Dr.Jim for over twenty years. He shared much knowledge with others, and made us all better professionals. I will certainly miss the conversations about the Packer's and the Wolverine's.
Following his Father's footsteps and handing the torch to his son Joe, the Strong Medical Center will remain a medical tradition in Ontonagon for years to come. May he now come to rest after all his dedication and determination.

Working with him at AOH my first 15 years here proved to be some of the most interesting times I have had to date. He was always so kind and full of wisdom. I used to try and correct him when he would call me an RD and he would laugh and tell me I was just as smart as them in his book. He is now with his beloved Flossie, playing golf and enjoying the retirement they missed out on. I will miss him and please know as a family you were very supportive and we appreciated all the time you spent with him at LTCU. He was a lucky Dad.
