Joyce Marie Davis, 43 of Watersmeet passed away peacefully in Madison, WI on December 18, 2015.
She was born July 23, 1972 in Ontonagon to Mike and Phyllis (Cottenham) Davis. Joyce graduated from Ewen-Trout Creek High School in 1990, and received an Associate’s Degree from Delta State University in 1995. She was employed at the Lac Vieux Desert Health Center as a medical coding and billing specialist.
Joyce was very community oriented and was often the first to volunteer her time. She served on the Watersmeet Board of Education and enjoyed helping with cultural events. She was a very talented artist and was known especially for her sewing and beading. Joyce enjoyed making craft items to give to others.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Dorrie McGeshick and grandma Jean Mongeon.
Joyce is survived by her parents; son David Alan McGeshick, Jr.; daughter Tasha McGeshick; siblings Crystal, Gordon and Byron Davis; uncle and aunt Lenny and Carol Lundgren; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Feast for Joyce will be held at 6pm Eastern (5pm Central) at the Ewen Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Funeral services will be at 11am Eastern (10 am Central) on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, also at the Ewen Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Watersmeet Township Cemetery.
