Joyce Ann (Danielski) Whitney

Joyce Ann Whitney, 81, passed away peacefully in her home on October 15, 2016. Joyce was born on July 9, 1935 in Green Bay, Wisconsin and grew up on her family’s farm. At age 13, her faith led her to serve God as a sister in the Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc. During her twenty years there, she earned her degree and certification as an elementary school teacher. After leaving the convent, she served the next 30 years as a science teacher in the Green Bay School District. She also married the love of her life, George, and together they raised four children while owning and operating a family farm. Upon retiring from both teaching and farming, they moved to the UP to spend their retirement years in the peace and quiet of the north woods. Joyce loved looking out at nature and enjoying its beauty.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 45 years, George; sons Dennis (Kay), Jeffrey (Dyan), Todd (Linda); daughter Joanne; stepmother Alice Danielski; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers Darold (Marlene) and David Danielski and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Gertrude and Gordon (Shorty) Danielski.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ewen, Michigan on Friday, October 21st, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 am EST. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am EST with Reverend Antony Kalapura officiating.
