Larry Willard Hansen, 82, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield, MI.
He was born June 17, 1935 in Kenton, MI to Violet (Jo) and Walter Hansen. He graduated from Ewen High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and spent 4 years in Altus, Oklahoma as a Crew Chief, working on the B 52 Bombers. Larry then retired from White Pine Copper after 33 years. He was married to Judy Jacobson on December 20, 1957.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and in later years building puzzles accompanied by his faithful companion "Scooter"
He is survived by his wife Judy (Jacobson) of Ewen and two children; Larry Scott (Bev) and Teresa (Scott Jenson). Four grandsons Jacob, Sam Henson, Pastor Erik and Daniel Grayvold. One sister Joyce Pottala and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Violet, father Walter and stepfather Eino Makela.
Visitation will take place Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 12 noon until 1:00 PM at 1st Apostolic Lutheran Church in Paynesville, MI with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 PM. Pastor Roger Kangas will officiate. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery.
The Cane Funeral Home of Bruce Crossing is assisting the family with arrangements.
