Maxine Marie (Broemer) Stuesser

   Maxine Marie Stuesser passed away peacefully on October 16 2016 at the Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital at the age of 83. By her side were her daughter Theresa and her son Ron. Maxine was born on December 29th 1932 in Ontonagon to T. George and Marie (Doverspike) Broemer. Maxine worked at the Foothills Restaurant as a teenager (formerly named Silver Court) and worked various other jobs until her retirement at age 71. In 1953 Maxine married George Stuesser of Ewen and they built their home on the Townline Road where she lived until her death. Maxine is survived by her daughter Theresa (Steve) Miller of Ontonagon, her son Ron Stuesser of Green, and her stepdaughter JoAnn (Jeff) Cizek of Traverse City. She was very proud of her six grandchildren Carrie (Jeff) Mensah and Tommy Lee Stuesser of Erlangen, Germany, Don (Sara) Miller of Marquette, Dennis (Angela) Miller of Ishpeming, and Dylan Tucker and Jessie Stuesser, both of Ontonagon. Seven Great-grandchildren Ronicus , Shantay, Tyler, Easton, Mariah, Jadyn, and Camryn.  She is also survived by Brother Raymond (Cathy) Broemer and sisters Doris Craw of Jackson, Michigan, Arlene (Don) Simula of Keweenaw Bay, and Janet (Jack) Robeson of Ontonagon, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband George, parents George and Marie, three brothers Jack, Frank and Darrel and three sisters , Irene, Dorothy and Lorraine, and one granddaughter Hunter Rayne.

 At Maxine’s house the coffee pot was always on and there was always fresh bakery, pies and apple bars for her frequent visiters, she was famous for her baking. The center of her kitchen table was well worn from her endless games of Yatzee with her brother Raymond. She recently enjoyed listening to music at the Eagles Club and visiting with everyone there. She will be missed greatly forever by everyone who loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 21st at Cane funeral home with visitation at 10:00 a.m. services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
