Michael Allen Hendrickson

November 11, 1954 ~ March 28, 2018 (age 63)

Michael Allen Hendrickson, age 63, of White Pine, MI passed away on March 27th, 2018 at his home, from an apparent heart attack.

Mike was born in Milwaukee, WI to Anna (Loukka) and Douglas Hendrickson on November 11, 1954.  He attended school in Lower Michigan.

Mike worked at Coach Light Restaurant as a busboy during his teen years. He also was one of the first employees at the Holiday Gas Station in Ontonagon, worked for Pastry Palace, and Greenland Township. But what he was well known for is his 30+ years as a garbage man for Roska Route which is now Waste Management.

One of Mike’s favorite things was working on cars and helping out family and friends whenever something was needed. Mike’s favorite payment for helping others was “Boiled Cookies.” He loved all of his nieces and nephews even if they were the “furry kind!” One of his favorite stops on his route was at Trail Family Daycare. All of the children called him “Uncle Mikey.” They would run to the window or even out the door just to say “Hi” to Uncle Mikey and he always had a big smile and a wave for them.

Mike is survived by his best buddy Snicker, his scottish terrier, his siblings Sandy Kotlaris (Stan Niemi) Ontonagon, Jake Hendrickson, Hubbel, Linda Thoreson, White Pine, and David (Becky) Hendrickson, Ontonagon. Also two aunts Martha Parkin, Ontonagon, Barb Friend, Warren, and one uncle Donald Hendrickson, St. Claire Shores, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Butchy Hendrickson, two nephews Michael Paul Kotlaris and DJ Hendrickson, and a special brother-in-law Gordy Thoreson.

Visitation will take place on March 31st, 2018 at Cane Funeral Home, Ontonagon from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm with Jeannie Manning officiating. A luncheon will be held at Cane Court after the service.

Pallbearers will be Stan Niemi, Roger Springsteen, Scott Reed, Jeff Baker, Rob Trail, and George Bittner.
