Michael (Mike) Jack McLaughlin, 62, of Trout Creek, MI passed away unexpectedly, Friday on January 20, 2017 at Aspirus Iron River Hospital.  He was born in Wakefield, MI July 3, 1954 to John Donald and Elna Ida (Nelson) McLaughlin.
Mike is a 1972 graduate of Ewen-Trout Creek High School. He was very athletic during his high school years and enjoyed following the local sports teams.   He has worked most of his life with his father as a logger until his more recent employment at Lac Vieux Desert Casino where he worked as a slot technician.  Mike was always a logger at heart.  He was a very kind, soft spoken person who never asked anyone for anything. He also enjoyed driving around the area where he lived.  Mike was very proud of his son Adam who joined the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his son Adam who is presently on active duty with the U.S. Navy;  his stepson Andy of Kenosha, WI.  Three brothers; Joel (Diane) of Marquette, Don (Sandy) of Trout Creek and Jim (Bobby) of Echo Bay Ontario, Canada. One sister; Mary Anne (Gene) Nurmi of Trout Creek, also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Nelson.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the American Legion, 119 Spur Street, Trout Creek,MI  at 1:00 PM with Robert Knivila officiating
The Cane Funeral Home of Bruce Crossing is assisting the family.
