Samuel Harold Rubinfeld II, age 72, of Ontonagon, MI passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in the comfort of his wife Pat and his children.
Samuel was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Samuel and Ruth (Ives) Rubinfeld on May 10, 1944. His father Samuel was a physician from 1936 to 1949 in Ontonagon, MI before he moved his family to Abingdon, IL.
He spent his Grade School and High School years in Abingdon and attended Western Illinois University. He married Rebecca Boyd in 1965, then married Patricia Geef in 1973. He worked in plant engineering in supervision for 25 years at Caterpillar. Sam was interested in mechanical anything with emphasis on street rods, motorcycles and antique scooters. Sam had a dynamic personality and loved people. He would talk to anyone. He had a strong faith in Christ.
He is survived by his wife Patricia (Geef) Rubinfeld of Ontonagon, MI, one son: Jon (Renee) Rubinfeld of Colorado Springs. Three daughters: Lori Turner of Richland, MI, Kathy (Tim) Culbertson of Chillicothe, IL and Jenni (Daniele) Ferrari of Dunlap, IL. Also 12 Grandchildren, two brothers: Sherman (June) Rubinfeld of McCormick, SC and Charles (Marj) Rubinfeld of Temple City, CA Sam is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place Saturday March 4, 2017 at Chillicothe Bible Church, Chillicothe, IL from 2:00-4:00 PM and a Memorial Service to follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Joe Horn officiating.
Memorial services will also take place at Redeemer Free Lutheran Church, Ontonagon MI in the spring.
The Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon, MI is assisting the family with arrangements.
