Wilho W. Aho, a longtime resident of Ontonagon, passed away on August 10,2016 at Century Ridge Elder Care in Green Bay, WI at age 100. He was born in Ontonagon on December 29, 1915 a son of the late Henry and Ida Aho. He was united in marriage to Goldie Piippo on June 10, 1953 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ontonagon.

He is survived by his wife Goldie and step son and daughter in law Dan and Jean Piippo of Green Bay. He is further survived by three grandchildren; Dan (Claudia), Jim (Marie), Duane (Eric), of Green Bay and four great grandchildren; Dannah (Jennifer), Escanaba, MI, Megan, Brianne and Josh, of Florida a niece Delema McCary, Hurley, MS and a nephew Jeff Leiviska also from MS.

Wilho was a veteran of WW II where he served in Europe and Africa. When he returned home he worked as a logger and later as a Mechanic for the Ontonagon County Road Commission and White Pine Copper Co. where he retired.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, wood working and metal working projects. He enjoyed listening to old time music, watching birds and rabbits out his room window and having his root beer and popcorn. The time that he spent with his grandchildren was time he always enjoyed.

Visitation and a service will be held at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon from 10 to 11 a.m. on August 15, followed by a graveside military service.
