Alan Murray Binkley, 90 years old, of Ontonagon MI, passed away on June 24th 2019 at Aspirus Long Term Care in Ontonagon.

Alan Murray Binkley was born in Keeler, Saskatchewan to Philip and Llowyn (Hildgartner) Binkley on January 4, 1929. He was the 13th child out of 16 and the 7th son born. Alan went to school in Saskatchewan and helped on the farm.

On August 27, 1952 Alan married Doreen (Halliday) Binkley in Etomami, Saskatchewan. They moved in August 1960 to White Pine, MI. Together they had 4 children. Alan became a master plumber & owned Binkley’s plumbing and heating from 1965-1995. Alan & Doreen also owned and operated Lake of the Clouds cabins in Silver City, MI.

Alan Murray Binkley is survived by his spouse: Doreen (Halliday) Binkley, Ontonagon, Children: Sharon (Scott) Karttunen, Ontonagon, Mona Binkley, White Pine, Shelley (Mike) Lindquist, New Mexico.

Siblings: Mervyn Binkley, Norman (Dorothy) Binkley, Mona (Binkley) McPhail and Louella (Binkley) MacDonald. Grandchildren: Brandi (Matt Evans) Steiner, Gina (Jim Osheim) Gentiline, Sarah (Dan) McDougall, Rachael Shilman, David (Brittany Sides) Koistinen, Jeffrey (Megan) Jackson and Jennifer Jackson. Great Grandchildren: Darien (Drew Morris) Steiner, Dylan Steiner, Liam McDougall, Jack McDougall, Harrison McDougall, Timothy Kniprath JR, Delaney Ferguson and Irelyn Koistinen.

Alan is preceded in death by his parents Philip and Llowyn Binkley, brothers: Elger Binkley, Elmer Binkley, Harold Binkley, Robert Binkley, Lorne Binkley & Russell Binkley. Sisters: Ruth Binkley, Eileen Binkley Crittenden, Selma Binkley Crittenden, Marjorie Binkley Scott, Grace Binkley Whitfield. Daughter: Lori Joy Binkley Koistinen, Grandson: Dennis Alan Koistinen, Son-in-law: Jack Shilman, Grandson-in-law: Frank Steiner IV. Also preceded in death by numerous sisters & brother-in-laws.

Cremation has taken place. Per Alans request, there will be no service.

The family wishes to thank the Aspirus Long term staff, doctors, and all who helped to make Alans time in Long term special.
