Alice L. Jarvi

Alice L. Jarvi 93 of Trout Creek passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Gardenview Assisted Living and Memory Care in Calumet, MI.

She was born in Detroit, MI on March 21, 1926 to the late John & Jennie (Waisanen) Ranta.  She met her husband Toivo in L’Anse, MI. They were married and spent the majority of their lives in Detroit where they had 2 sons Alan & Jimmy.  They moved back to Trout Creek in 1980.

Alice made pasties with her church group at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trout Creek every hunting season for the area hunters. She was an avid quilter with her church group as well. She loved baking for her family and friends.

Alice is survived by her husband Toivo, grandsons Doug (Karen) &Tom (Becky) Jarvi, great grandchildren Vincent, Ilona, Julianna, Blake & James, brother Robert Ranta, sister-in-law Helen Kettunen and daughter-in-law Leslie Jarvi.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her 2 sons Alan & Jimmy Jarvi.

A graveside service will be held this spring at the Agate Cemetery in Agate, MI.
