Carole Jean (Lindberg) Walters, 79 of Ontonagon, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. She was born in Mass City to Frank and Signe Lindberg on February 29, 1940-- Leap Year!
Carole Jean graduated from Rockland High School where she met and later married Howard Arnold Walters on July 18, 1959. They enjoyed dancing and continued to do so for the next 60+ years. They also were blessed with 4 children: Lonnie (Lynn) Walters, Lisa Mankin, Steve (Lisa) Walters and Jeff (Shelby) Walters.
She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, painting, exercising at the Fitness Center, going to the Theater, having Card Club for 40 years, and spending time with her family and friends. Carole worked at the Ontonagon Memorial Hospital as a Charge Clerk, along with other positions. She also was involved in the Legion Auxiliary in Rockland and President of the United Methodist Women.
Carole Jean is survived by her husband and children, her sisters: Frances Pender, Barbara (Jerry) Pederson, Nancy Pence, Dori (John) Spolarich, one brother, Frank Lindberg, Jr., and one sister-in-law Deanna Lindberg. Nine Grandchildren: Jennifer (Wendell) Quesinberry, Julie (Dan) Tousignant, Tony, Adam, Brittany, Austin, Daniel, Callie and Henry. Four Great-Grandchildren: Macie, Ryan, Emree, Brooks and many nieces and nephews.
Carole Jean is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Signe Lindberg, one brother Jim Lindberg and one Grandson, Lucas.
Visitation will be at 11:30am - 1:00pm, on Monday, November 25th with the service at 1:00pm, at the United Methodist Church in Rockland, MI., with Pastor Nelson Hall officiating.
Burial will be in the spring at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland.
