Ero Davis Ahola passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at his home in Mass City. He was born in in Wainola, MI to Alex & Lempi Ahola on July 27, 1936.
Davi graduated form Mass High School in 1955. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army. Serving 2 years in Germany.
On his return home from service, he went to work in the woods with is 2 older brothers, Jalmer & Raymond in Northern Minnesota. In May of 1960 he returned home with his brothers and all 3 went to work at White Pine Copper Co. For those who can remember, all 3 brothers purchased new Chevrolet vehicles from Baullingu Chevrolet. Jalmer bought a red Impala, Raymond a brown Bell Aire and Davi a black Biscayne.
In 1963 Davi left Mass City and went to Detriot to work in construction. He later returned home and worked in odd jobs.
Davi was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eino, Jalmer, William and Raymond, brother-in-laws Raymond Hardy and Tony Whitener.
He is survived by sisters Shirley Hardy of Texas, Ruth Whitner of North Carolina, Dorothy (William) Johnson of Twin Lakes sister-in-law Shirley Pitts of Mass City and numerous nephews, nieces , cousins and friends.
At the request of the deceased cremation has taken place with no services at this time. Spring burial and services will be held at the Rousseau Cemetery and will be announced at a later date.
The Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon is assisting with arrangements.
