Karen Plutchak, 68, of Greenland, MI, passed away on March 10, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Karen was born in Goodrich, Michigan to Fred and Gloria Koon on April 10, 1950. She graduated from Goodrich High School. Karen married Jerry Plutchak on December 13, 1975, and relocated to the Upper Peninsula where she and Jerry raised their family. Karen was employed at Maple Manor Nursing Home for many years as a CNA.
Karen is survived by her children: Shannon (Mike) Anttila, Kimberly Hicks, Jeremy (Kelly) Plutchak, and David (fiance Emily Rady) Plutchak. Grandchildren: Deserae, Brianna (fiance Andrew Landgraf), Kayla, Karine, Hannah, Chelsey, Trevor, Anna, Hailey, Willow, and Gracie. Brothers: Don (Pam) Koon, and Stan (Susie) Koon. Sisters: Sally (Bob) Jenkins, and Judy Koon. Karen is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry, daughter Heather, parents Fred and Gloria (Tenny) Koon, and parents-in-law Miles and Evelyn (Johnson) Plutchak.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no service or visitation at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for providing excellent care and for the kindness and compassion given to our family during this difficult time, and, John Cane, at the Cane Funeral Home, for his invaluable assistance with the passing of both of our parents. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Eva Goodreau, who was a wonderful friend and neighbor to our mother.
