Marilyn Ruth Anttila 89 of Ontonagon passed away December 27, 2019 at the Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital's Long Term Care Unit the last of eight children.
Marilyn was born in Ontonagon on October 20, 1930 to Marion and Peter Sparpanic. She graduated from Ontonagon High School with the class of 1949. In 1956 she married Arnold Anttila in Highland Park, Michigan and they enjoyed 63 years together.
She worked in electronics and as a bookkeeper and volunteered for 15 years at Good Shepard Catholic Church in Montrose, Michigan and 15 years at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon.
Marilyn is survived by her Husband, Arnold; Niece, (Godchild) Kim (Bob) Coffey and their children Michele, Deanna, and Jennifer; Brother in Law, Ronald (Geri) Anttila; Sisters in law, Estelle Merigan and her son Gary, Patricia Anttila and Loris Anttila; Niece, Carol (Jack) Hatte; Nephews, Craig (Denise) Destrampe, Shannons (Mary) Destrampe & David Sparpanic and Nieces and Nephews Phillip, Janet and Darlene Stefanich.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Siblings, Patrick, Peter, Eugene, Donald, Margaret, Dorothy and Lucy; Sister in Law, Jean (Gerald) Schire; and Brothers in Law, Doug Anttila and James Anttila.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon. A viewing will take place from 10:00am - 11:00 am, with the service at 11:00am.
