Michael Miilu Obituary

Michael "Mikey" Miilu 41 of Mass City passed away unexpectedly at work on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

He was born in Ontonagon on August 5, 1977 to Eino & Kristiina (Patana) Miilu.

Mikey love the U.P. Especially the winters. He enjoyed snowmobiling, skiing in his younger years, deer and small game hunting and being in nature in general. In the summer, Mikey loved stock car racing with his good friend Michael Truscott. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved to spend time with his many close friends.

Mikey graduated from the Ontonagon Area High School with the class of 1995.  He worked at Penegor Lumber, Joey Burke Construction, was an escort driver for Brad Holmstrom Trucking and a seasonal employee for the Ontonagon County Road Commission. He followed his friend Michael Truscott racing and never missed a Hodag, Family and friends meant the world to him. He was a Gift of Life donor.

Mikey is survived by his parents Eino & Kris Miilu of Mass City, brother Erik (Jessica) Miilu of Tampa, FL and numerous other family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25th at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mass City at 11 am.  Friends are invited to gather at the church 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be in the Rousseau Cemetery.

The Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon is assisting the family.
