I was saddened to learn of Ronnie's passing. While I did not grow up in the Mass City area per se, I spent plenty of time there with my dad and Ronnie was usually in the same vicinity. He was friendly, generous and competitive, as well as being a bit obstinate like the rest of us of the Finnish persuasion. My condolences to his family and friends.

Ron was a smart ball player, great hitter, and always held on to the ball when they trieyhad a close play at home plate. Also played against him and he was always very competitive in anything he did. Listening to him made me a better ball player.
