Rose Sophie Mattson

Rose Sophie Mattson, 93, of Bruce Crossing passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.

Rose was born on March 8, 1926 in Lake Linden, MI to the late Isaac and Sophie Lervic. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry A Mattson, a beloved sister Ruth (Erik) Lytikainen and a brother, Rueben (Ruth) Lervic. She is survived by one son, Gerald D(Sharon) Mattson, granddaughter Melissa Ann (Parker Burshem) Mattson, grandsons Anthony Isaac and Andrew John Mattson, great granddaughter Rose Eliina Mattson, sister Rachel (Willam) Smith, a sister-in-law Marilyn (Leo)Mattson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School  in 1943. She then went to work in Detroit, MI where she met Harry Mattson and they were married in March of 1953 making their home in Detroit. In 1975 they moved back to Bruce Crossing where they spent their "Golden Years." Rose was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Apostolic Luthern Church of Bruce Crossing.

Services for Rose S Mattson will be held on July 19, 2019 at 11:00am with visitation 1 hour prior to services at the Apostolic Luthern Church, Bruce Crossing, MI. Pastor Jesse Aho officiating. Committal will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Bruce Crossing, MI.
