Adolph "Puffy" Nygard 90 of Ontonagon died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
He was born November 6, 1916 in Ontonagon to the late Joseph & Lina Nygard.
On September 4, 1939 Puffy was united in marriage to the former Margaret Bowers. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2006.
Puffy was a member of the Siloa Lutheran Church in Ontonagon. He was also a member of the Ontonagon Volunteer Fire Department for 34 years.
He is survive by daughters Beverly (Ronald) Lotspaih of Jackson, WI and Carole (George) Monville of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, grandchildren Cynthia (Mike Geraty) Mueller, Linda (Mark) Gildner, Steven (Annette) Lotspaih, Kevin Lotspaih, Jeffrey (Tamara) Monville and Ann (Brian) Rogers, great-grandchildren Justin, Amanda, Tyler, M.J., Trisha, Andrew, Matt, Craig, Jeremy, Kaylin, Alyssa, Brandon, Mason and Carson and several nieces and nephews.
Puffy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, brother Joseph Nygard, sisters Doris Maki and Alvera Johnson and grandson Michael.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2007 at the Siloa Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Pastor Penny Olson officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The Ontonagon Volunteer Fire Department will hold memorial services at Noon at the church. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon.
