Obituary

Albert "Al" Henry Bannick, 80 of Ontonagon passed away September 17, 2015 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.

He was born October 10, 1934 in Effingham County, Illinois to Henry and Laura (Schultz) Bannick. Al served in the US Army in the Korean War and Vietnam War, along with numerous assignments throughout the world. On November 14, 1976 he married Loretta Blount. They moved to Ontonagon in 1988 and were pillars of the community.

Al is survived by his wife Loretta; children Michael (Linda) Fortner, Steven (Ramona) Bannick and Tamra Coyne; grandchildren Sophia Beebe, Sara Luna, Joshua (Tara) Bannick, John (Rebecca) Mayo and Lilly Bannick; great-grandchildren Serenity and Raven Luna, John and Jasmine Mayo, Alexandria Bannick and Sage Franz; siblings Thelma (Ronny) Poe, Caroline (Roger) Verdyne, David (DeeDee) Bannick and Linda (Jeff Nelson) Reel. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Laura and siblings Janet Womack and Roy Bannick.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11 am at the Assembly of God Church in Ontonagon. Visitation will begin at 10 am and continue until the time of service. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.
