Alice Mae Picotte, age 84 of Ontonagon passed away on June 10, 2015 at Aspirus Long Term Care.

Alice was born in Ironwood to Albert & Lily Moore on May 12, 1931. On June 9, 1956, she married Robert (Bud) Picotte. They had 3 children and made their home in Ontonagon. She worked at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital and Maple Manor. One of her favorite hobbies was writing poetry and short stories. She has won several awards for her poetry throughout the years, including "Poet of Merit Award for 1995" from the International Society of Poets. She has also traveled all over the country to attend poetry conventions. She was kind-hearted, generous and a beautiful person inside and out.

She is survived by two sons, Joe (Beth) and Tom (Shannon), brother Roland (Phyllis) Moore, sisters Mary Anne Razer and Evelyn Handley, grandchildren Joe Jr., Jeannie, Angie, Christina, Laurie, Tom Jr., and Gary and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Lily Moore, brother Billy, sister Alvera, son David and special friend Denny Farris.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 15th from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family.
