Obituary

Alvin Kaurala 79 of Rousseau passed away in the early morning hours on August 15, 2022, with loving family nearby.

Alvin was born March 1,1943 to Waino and Laina (Seppala) Kaurala in Greenland, Michigan.

Alvin was a caring and loving husband, father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was a jack of all trades and master of ALL. There wasn't a challenge you could give that he didn't take on with gusto and perseverance, "Sisu".

He taught everyone around him to strive to do their best and finish what they started, that's how he raised his family, "don't ever give up". He worked for Lukkari Bros. for six years, learning a builders trade, then finished his work 35 years with the Ontonagon County Road Commission, retiring in 2003, then time tinkering and building projects around the farm.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna (Wells) Kaurala of 59 years, three sons; Raymond (Laurie) Kaurala of Nisula, Michigan, Aaron (Lori) Kaurala of Berkley, Michigan, Dale Kaurala of Nisula, Michigan and one daughter Elizabeth (Dale) Kemppainen of Iron River, Michigan, Cheryl (Dan) Meister, Rick & Deb and grandchildren; twenty-eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; Brother William (Bill) and Kathy Kaurala, Aunt Elvie Field of California and numerous cousins.

A funeral service will be held at Mass Community Center in Mass City on Saturday, August 20 2022 with visitation from 12:00pm - 2:00pm and the funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor Ed Hokanen officiating.
