Anerva Maki, 83, of Mass City passed away on January 3,2008, at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital L.T.C.

She was born on April 15,1924, to Jalmer and Hilja Lehtimaki in Wainola, Michigan. In 1945 she married Edward Maki. He preceded her in death in 1987. Anerva and Ed farmed in the Wasas Siding area. Anerva also worked at the Mass Elementary School as a custodian and cook. She was a lifelong member of the Wainola Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents and husband Anerva was preceded in death by a sister Helmi and brothers Francis and Reino.

She is survived by her sons, James (Valerie) of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Steven (Carol) of Mass City, Randy (Cheryl) of Auburn, California; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Matt (Mary); sisters Elvie Lehtimaki, Vera Poss, Eva (Jim) Smith and Thyra Kuhla.Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.
