Obituary

Anita Louise "Niti" Pantti of Greenland, MI passed away at her home in Greenland, MI on Friday, August 2, 2024..She was born on February 2, 1943, to Ivan and Alice (Draze) Martin, in Ontonagon, MI. She attended Mass City High School.

She was united in marriage to Carl Pantti on February 24th, 1961. They made their home in Greenland, MI where they raised their four children.

Anita and Carl moved to Alaska, for his job, and lived there for several years. During that time, she made many lifelong friends. They enjoyed their time in Alaska but returned to MI to their family home.

Upon returning to Michigan, she opened Anita's Tax Service and Bookkeeping and operated until retirement in 2020. She enjoyed helping people with their taxes and financial matters. She was well known for her expertise regarding tax matters and was always willing to answer questions.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Teaching them how to knit, make pasty's and sewing. Her and Carl enjoyed traveling and exploring Alaska while they lived there. They also traveled to Germany, Sweden and Finland when their son was stationed in Germany. She enjoyed her road trips to see her children, grandchildren and family.

Anita was proud of the small town she grew up in and served on several committees in the community. She was co-chair of the Greenland Sesquicentennial Celebration in 2008. It was planned as a one-year event, it was enjoyed by the community and the committee worked to turn it into an annual 4th of July celebration. After continuing as co-chair for many years she stepped down to let the next generation take over. She was very proud to have been part of the celebration for years and that the celebration continues to bring people together every year. She also served on the Greenland Maple Grove Cemetery Association and as Greenland Township Treasurer.

She is survived by her children Paulette, Richard, Carl Jr and David. 8 grandchildren Megan, Erik, Jacob, Amanda, Rudy, Sara, Britni and Emma. 8 great grandchildren Carson, Gavin, Teagan, Lilly, Rylee, Leo, Aurora and Jocelyn. Her 9th great grandchild Ivan due in Aug. 2024. Sister Pat (Jerry) Walker and 2 brothers Jim (Lorriane) Martin and John (Colette) Martin. Many nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Carl, her parents, son in law Frank Hill, sisters and brother in laws Gail (Ken) Immonen, Sue (Phil) Broadhead, Murnie (Steve) Roberts. Her in laws Wilho and Emma Pantti and 2 brother in laws Rudy and William Pantti.

The family would like to thank Sunset Harbor Home Care and BCMH Hospice staff for the exceptional care and compassion they showed to Anita.

A special thank you to Chelsey for her care of Anita during her last few weeks of her life.

Visitation services will be held on Monday, August 12,2024 at the Cane Funeral Home from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the Greenland Community Church in Greenland on Tuesday, August 13 at 11 a.m. Friends may also call at the chursh1 hour prior to the start of the service. Buriel will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland.

Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
