Ann E. Iskra passed away at Grandview Hospital, Ironwood Monday January 1, 2007, after a very brief illness.
Long-time Ontonagon resident. Devoted wife and mother. Predeceased by husband, Joseph. Survived by sons John (Toronto, Canada) and Andrew (Ontonagon). Avid reader. Past member of the Legion Auxiliary and Ontonagon Museum volunteer. Long-time member of the Marine Corps Raider Association. In 2001, as a guest of the USMC, attended the burial of the remains her brother Marine Pvt Charles Selby with full honors in Arlington National Cemetery after he had been MIA for 59 years at Makin Island, Butaritari Atoll. Visitation Thursday January 4th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cane Funeral Home, Ontonagon. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday January 5th 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. Spring burial will be held at the Holy Family Cemetery. Those who wish can make a donation to the Ontonagon County Historical Society in her name.
