Antoinette "Toni" Hokans, 69, of Ontonagon passed away January 29, 2013 at her home.

Toni was born on June 20, 1943 in Matchwood Township to Anton and Helen (Smith) Malnar. She married Gene Hokans on July 27, 1963 in Ewen.

Toni was active in 4-H and taught Catechism. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and games with her grandchildren, and listening to books on tape. She was a devoted wife, mother and "Nanny."

She is survived by her husband, Gene; children Carrie (Wayne) Solberg, Sherrie (Don) Gustafson, Kevin Hokans, Kyle Hokans, Keith (Cindy) Hokans, Kristi (Pat) Pestka and Jill (Ken Waldrop) Corey. She is also survived by her sister Bev (Len) Morin, brother Darrell (Mickie Lee) Malnar, 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, brother Duane and granddaughter Shauna.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 12 noon at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon, with Father Michael Jacobus as Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at which point a Rosary service will take place.

Spring interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in Ontonagon.
