Barbara Roberts, 72 of Rockland passed away at home with her children and husband at her side. She was born in Wausau, Wisconsin to the late Walter and Eunice Lillie. Barbara moved to Ontonagon as a small child with her parents and her older sister Nancy. A favorite family pastime was searching for agates at the beach.

In 1965 Barbara married Clinton A. Roberts and they made their home in Rockland, Michigan where they raised their children: Dean, Joy, Rob, Pattie, Tom and Ben.

Barbara had many interests and unlimited creative talent. She was an expert on finding good books to read and movies to watch. She made quilts after she retired from the Post Office, as well as quilted pillows and table runners. She also crocheted afghans and sometimes a matching pillow to go with it, and we will never forget the crocheted hedgehogs. She was a tough competitor when playing Gin Rummy or Scrabble, and regardless of whether you were her child or not, she would never throw a game and always fought for the win.

In accordance with Barbara's wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the ALS Association Michigan Chapter or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Barbara.
