Barbara Marie (Kukanich) Shambach, 47 passed away May 3, 2007 at her home in San Diego, CA.

She was born April 7, 1960 in Ontonagon to Joseph and Shirley Kukanich.

Barbara graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1978. She and Michael Shambach were married at Denver, CO on August 23, 1986. They later moved to San Diego where they have resided since. She most recently worked as Regional Operations Manager at CTX Mortgage Co.

Barbara is survived by her husband Michael Shambach, parents Joseph and Alice Kukanich of Ontonagon, brothers Gregory (Carolyn) Kukanich of Lakeland, TN, Michael (Peggy) Kukanich of Ontonagon, step-sisters Gena (Craig) Bixman of Las Vegas, NV, Katy (Jeff) Trumbull of Tucson, AZ, Jeri (Steve) Harbenski of Ontonagon.

She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley, sister Charlotte and her grandparents.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday May 23rd at 1 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Barbara's obituary can be viewed and condolences may be left at canefunerahome.com.

Barb had requested that memorials be made in her name to the Ontonagon County Cancer Association.
