Obituary

Bernard Mark Anderson of Ontonagon passed away Dec. 9th at Aspirus Ontonagon Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born July 28, 1928 at Mass City to William Anderson and Mary M. Emily Penegor. Bernard graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1946 and entered the U.S. Army serving a tour of duty in Panama as a supply Sgt. Bookkeeper and special driver to the commanding officers. After leaving the service honorably he worked for the Schlitz Brewery in Milwaukee, WI.

'Nardy' as he was called by family and close friends worked most of his career as a logger and excavator later working as a heavy equipment mechanic for Ontonagon County from which he retired in 1992.

After retirement 'Nardy's' passions were snow plowing in winter, and reading. He was a great appreciator of poetry.

Bernard was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a founding member of the Stein Club and always an avid Packer Backer.

In 1961 Bernard met and married then widow Lillie Mary Propst Tull. The were married for 35 years when Lillie passed in 1995.

Surviving him are his sisters Berniece Anderson , Mary (Vi) Anderson Easterly, Cecelia Anderson Rosetti, his four children Lillian Tull, Georgia (Kjill) Bakke-Tull, Sheila (John) Tull Razmus and Daniel (Deb) Tull, fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Bernard was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Mary Propt Tull Anderson, his parents and sisters Aimella, Marie and brothers Bill and Harold (Bud) Anderson.

Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church Saturday, Dec. 12th with a gathering from 11 - 12:00 and services at 12:00 followed by a luncheon in the church basement.

Donations may be given in Bernard's name to the local St.Vincent de Paul.

Bernard 'Nardy' will always be remembered for his hardy laugh, jovial, positive spirit and his wonderful story telling ability.
