Brenda Joy (Skoviak) Carey of White Pine, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, at the age of of 58. Brenda was born to Flora (Halliday) Skoviak and John Skoviak in Wakefield MI on February 5, 1963.

Brenda graduated from White Pine School, Class of 1981 and attended Northern Michigan University. Upon graduating from Gogebic Community College in 2003, she moved to Queens, NY to begin a new life with her husband Patrick, who she married and then had a baby. In 2004 they returned to White Pine to continue their life together in the UP.

Brenda is survived by her beloved husband Patrick Joseph Carey V, children: Mitchell (Becca) Potvin, Zachary Potvin, Jameson Carey, Robert "Robby" Carey (stepson) and Michael Carey (stepson); Grandchildren; Logan Potvin and Elijah Potvin; Sisters Patricia Skoviak and Terry Skoviak Bruusema; Brothers Gregory (Laurie) Skoviak and Michael (Tonya) Skoviak; Mother-in-law Gertrude Carey; In-laws: Bonnie (Billy) Folz, Leann (Phil) Carpenter: Nieces and nephews Nicole, Jackie, Kirah, Kyle, Nathan, Sarah, Danny and Avery.

She is preceded in death by her parents Flora Joy (Halliday) Skoviak and John Jordan (Yaka) Skoviak.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date to be announced.
