Carolynne Ann
Bigge
Apr 30, 1942 — Sep 5, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Carolynne Ann "Lynne" Bigge, who was called home to the Lord on September 5, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 84 years old.
Lynne was born on April 30, 1942, in Rivers, Manitoba, Canada. Lynne, her mother Winona, and her brother Bryan spent their early years in Flin Flon and the Pas with their grandparents and mother. Their Grandpa was a pharmacist and later he purchased a hotel in Winnipeg called the Pembina, which the family ran.
Winona married a miner, Ellis West, who she met in Winnipeg. When Lynne was 13 the family moved to White Pine, MI. so Ellis could work at the mine. Shortly after graduating, she met the love of her life, John Bigge. The two were united in marriage on July 20, 1963. Together, John and Lynne built a beautiful life and raised four loving children.
Lynne attended nursing school and worked outside the home, but her truest calling, one she embraced wholeheartedly, was raising her children. Her love grew even wider with the arrival of her grandchildren: Tyler, Halle, Brieanna, Richie, and Tasha, and later her six great grandchildren; each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
She had a gift for bringing people together and turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Holidays were especially dear to her as she loved to decorate and host. Lynne enjoyed line dancing, bowling, traveling, sewing, road trips, camping, Labor Day celebrations, gambling, tending to her summer flowers, and gathering her family around the dinner table.
Lynne is survived by her devoted husband, John; her four children: Randy (Emma), Trudie, Ron, and Dan; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother, Jim West; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Winona West; father, Ellis West; brother, Bryan West; mother-in-law, Annabelle Bigge; father-in-law, Joseph Bigge; and many other loved ones who welcomed her home.
Visitation for Lynne will take place Friday, September 18, 2026, from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11 am at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon. Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the start of the Mass. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery.
