Christina May Pantti Shamion 35 passed away suddenly on March 9, 2009 at Portage Health System Hospital in Hancock.

She was born on April 16, 1973 at the Ontonagon Memorial Hospital. Christina is the daughter of Waino Pantti and Sally Pietila Pantti Kemppainen. She attended the local school district and graduated with the class of 1991.

Christina loved to hunt, fish, four wheeler riding, billiards, darts, team trivia and spending time with her son Martin, the love of her life Clinton Kuivinen and her 2 dogs Rocky and Remmy. She loved being with her family and always was the laugh of the party. Christina also enjoyed cooking and baking, collecting teddy bears and cookbooks and loved to listen to all types of music.

She was preceded in death by her father Waino L. Pantti, grandparents Waino N. and Marguerite M. Pence Pantti, Ruth Johnson Pietila, uncle Robert Pietila and god parents Carl & Cecelia Conrad.

Christina is survived by her son Martin R. Shamion, the love of her life Clinton Kuivinen, mother Sally Pantti (Mike) Kemppainen, brother Andrew of Marquette, sister Colleen (John) Buzzo, nephews John and Justin Buzzo and Waino Pantti, step-sisters Michelle (John) Ladiski and their children, Krishna (Rick) Miller and their children and Teresa Stasa, grandparents Albert and Jean Tikka, and Wilho Kemppainen, aunts Nancy Ashbrook, Cathy (John) Welsh, Peggy (Bruce) Knivila and uncle William (Sara) Pietila, Clintons parents Carolyn and Marshall Kuivinen his brother Conrad Kuivinen, best friend Cindy Lonchar and her sons Jesse and Justin and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 12th at 6 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
