Cindy Kay Miles, 53, of Ontonagon, died Sunday, January 9, of injuries resulting from a motor vehicle accident.

She was born July 15, 1957 in Ontonagon to William F. and Margaret Gebeau Miles. Cindy was graduated from Ontonagon Area High School in 1975. She continued her studies at Northern Michigan University.

After working as a nurses' aide at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital, she earned a credential as a licensed practical nurse at Gogebic Community College. She also worked as an EMT for Ontonagon County Ambulance.

At the time of her death, Cindy had worked for many years at Ontonagon Memorial and Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital. She was continuing her studies with the plan to become a registered nurse.

She is survived by brother William Miles of Ontonagon and sister Betty Reimer of Duluth; as well as aunts Mary Myhren and Helen Miles Haas; three nephews, two nieces and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held Thursday, January 13 at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, with visitation at noon and services beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in the spring.
