Obituary

Clifford Tandlund, 86, of Ontonagon, passed away on October 24, 2011, at the Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.

Clifford was born in Bruce Crossing to Peter & Edith Tandlund on March 7, 1925. He started school in Rockland, MI and graduated from the Ontonagon High School in 1943. He married Isabel Koski on June 11, 1948, who preceded him in death.

Cliff was employed at the Gamble Store and then later went to work for White Pine Copper Mine as an electrician until his retirement in 1986. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945. He was stationed in the Philippines, New Guinea and Japan.

He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, where he was the choir director for many years. He also served on the school board and was a member of the VFW drum and bugle corps. He did volunteer work at the visitor center and was the "fix-it" man at St. Vincent de Paul for many years.

Cliff is survived by his four children: Chuck (Judy) Tandlund, Richard Tandlund, Wendy (Al) Mladenoff and Bes (Charlie) Folkman.
