Curtis Lee Clinesmith, 31, of Ontonagon, passed away unexpectedly on August 08, 2011 at his home. Curtis was born in Saginaw, Michigan to his parents Devere Cecil Clinesmith and Becky Jean (Cox) Clinesmith on May 10, 1980.
Curtis graduated from the Ontonagon Area High School in 1999 and from Northern Michigan University in 2001 with a degree in Waste Water Management. Curtis has worked as a laborer for the past seven years, including operating a firewood business with his father in Ontonagon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his nephew and family.
Curtis is survived by his parents, Devere and Becky Clinesmith; brother, Jason (Shannon) Clinesmith; and nephew, Karson Clinesmith, all from Ontonagon. He is also survived by his grandfather, Cecil Clinesmith; uncle, Dean (Janet) Clinesmith; and five cousins, all from Lower Michigan.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Leonard and Helen Cox from Caro, Michigan; grandmother, Elaine Clinesmith from Silverwood, Michigan; and sister, April Mae Clinesmith.
A memorial service will be held at the Cane Funeral Home on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Father Michael Jacobus, of the Holy Family Catholic Church, officiating. Burial arrangements will occur a later date. A luncheon will be served at the VFW in Ontonagon following the service.
