David Brown of White Pine, Michigan, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the age of 76 at Marquette General Hospital from complications following a stroke. He passed peacefully with his son, Micah at his side and the album "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd playing.
He was born April 20, 1936 in Orange, New Jersey, the son of Jack and Dorothy (Hinkel) Brown. He graduated from Glenn Ridge High School in New Jersey.
He served in Korea as a radio operator in the U.S. Army. He attended the University of Illinois and later Eastern Michigan University.
He was a lifelong fan of the Oakland A's and Baltimore Colts. He worked at racing stables in Kentucky, Florida, Nebraska, Louisiana, and Hazel Park, Michigan, where he met future wife Debbie Heminger of Manistique, Michigan. The two had a son, Micah, in 1984.
He retired in 2000 as a systems analyst and computer programmer for NBD and later Compuware in Troy, Michigan. Following retirement, he moved to White Pine, Michigan to be closer to his son and watch him play sports.
David is survived by his son Micah Brown, ex-wife Debbie Finton, and cat Killer Brown, all of White Pine, Michigan.
