David J. Uhlig 93 of Ontonagon died Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital's Long Term Care Unit.
He was born September 28, 1913 to William & Mary (Zimmerman) Uhlig. David attended school in Glidden, WI.
On June 1, 1938 David married Lucile Segal in Glidden. They moved to Ontonagon in 1938. There, David worked for Gorman Lumber Company, National Container and the White Pine Copper Co. He was a maintenance man in the smelter for many years until his retirement. Lucile preceded him in death on July 17, 1998.
David is survived by daughter Audry (William) Lindstrom of White Pine, son William (Linda) Uhlig of Ontonagon, granddaughters Dana (Deepanker) Pant of York, PA and Debra Bloundt of High Rolls, NM, sister Laura Hetfield, brother William (Constance) Uhlig, sister-in-laws Alice Leisenfeld and Rita Segal all of Glidden and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lucile, daughter Mary Jean and sisters Mabel Schallock, Ruth Bauer and Clara Uhlig.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25th at the Siloa Lutheran Church in Ontonagon, Pastor Penny Olson officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Friends may view David's obituary and leave condolences at canefuneralhome.com.
