Dolores Dix "Tootie", age 90, of Greenland, passed away on May 6 following a brief illness. She had been a resident at the Gogebic County Medical Facility since April 2026.

Dolores was born on July 11, 1935, to Leon and Bernice (Wilson) DeHut. On June 19, 1954, she married Robert Dix, and together they built a loving home in Greenland, where they raised their two children, Mary Lou Dix (Anderson) and Robert Dix.

Dolores found great joy in cooking and baking and became especially known for her pasties. Over the course of her lifetime, she lovingly baked thousands for family and friends. She also dedicated many years of service as a nurse's aide at the Ontonagon Long Term Care Facility. Above all else, Dolores treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Anderson (Glenn); her son, Robert Dix (Debbie); grandchildren Stacy Anderson, Jacki Anderson, Glenn R Anderson, Alex Kaat (Nathan), and Selena Dix; great-grandchildren Jessie Kaat, Emery Kaat, and Mika Kaat; her sister, Joann Butala; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, after 58 years of marriage; her parents, Leon and Bernice DeHut; and her brother, Eugene DeHut.

In accordance with Dolores' wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.

The family will remember Dolores for her warmth, devotion to family, hardworking spirit, and the love she shared through the meals and memories she created for those around her.
