Obituary

Dennis "Dinky" Hendrickson 64 passed away Friday, February 22, 2008 at his home in Mass City.

He was born August 6, 1943 in Trimountain, MI to the late Emil & Lempi (Tolonen) Hendrickson. Dennis attended school at John A. Doelle School. After graduation, he joined the Marines. Dennis served from August 20, 1960 to August 26, 1964. Following his discharge, he worked in the Detroit area. Dennis moved back to Nisula in 1975. On July 2, 1994 he married the former Kathy Komuo. They moved to Mass City in 1999 where they had resided until Dennis' passing.

He was an active member of the Marine Corp League Keweenaw Detachment, Copper Country Veteran's Association, Ontonagon Count Veteran's Association, Baraga County Veteran's Association, Baraga American Legion Post 444 and Am Vets Honor Guard.

Dennis is survived by his wife Kathy Hendrickson of Mass City, 3 sons Dennis (Cheryl) of Rudyard, , Peter of Southfield, and Jason Hendrickson of Rumley, 1 daughter Angela Hendrickson of Rochester Hills, 3 step-sons Jesse (Becky) of Mass City, Shane (Hillary) of Greenland and Timothy (Cynthia) Stites of Calumet, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 2 step-granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, , 2 sisters Betty Case of Medford, OR and Joyce Bohjanen of Oscar Bay, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Ronald Hendrickson.

Visitation will be Monday, February 25th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mass City. Funeral Services will be held at the church Tuesday, February 26th at 11 a.m. with Pastor John West officiating. Friends may also call at the church 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Military rites will be conducted Tuesday by the Baraga American Legion Post 444. Spring burial will be in the Rousseau Cemetery.
