IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis Wilson
Steinburg
January 14, 1947 – October 20, 2025
Dennis Wilson Steinburg 78 years old of Bergland, Michigan passed away on October 20, 2025, at the Jacobetti Home for Veteran's in Marquette, Michigan. His wife, sister-in-law Connie and niece Tonia were by his side.
He was born in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada to William A. Dalton Steinburg and Edith Lorina (Anderton) Steinburg on January 14, 1947. His parents immigrated to the United States and settled in Waukegan, Illinois where he graduated high school in 1965. Subsequently he enlisted in the USMC and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He received the Vietnam Service Medal w/3 stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/D, Combat Air Crew Insignia and the USMC Air Medal w/3 stars and was also awarded the Purple Heart. After retiring from the USMC, he apprenticed into the IBEW (union) and worked as an electrician until his retirement.
Dennis came from an impossibly smally family but inherited a stepson Brandon C. Sanders and a large extended family when he married his wife Nancy M. Sanders in 1996. They survive him.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #67 in Ewen, Michigan and the American Legion in White Pine, Michigan. He was a donor and advocate for animal rights and rescue and had many fur babies waiting for him at the rainbow bridge.
An informal Memorial Service will be held at Cane Funeral Home, Ontonagon, Michigan on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 2:00pm. At 3:00pm everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life and luncheon at the Reception Hall at Cane Court, Ontonagon. Burial will be held in June 2026.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Jacobetti Home for Veteran's and the Lake Superior Hospice Care. They not only happily cared for him, but they also honored him. Thank you to Cane Funeral Home for their assistance.
