Devere Cecil Clinesmith, 75 years old, of Ontonagon, passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2025, at his residence, just five weeks after losing the love of his life, Becky Clinesmith.

Devere was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Cecil Clinesmith and Elaine (Kratz) Clinesmith on November 28, 1949, and graduated from Kingston High School.  He married Becky (Cox) Clinesmith on May 21, 1977.

Devere and Becky moved to Ontonagon, Michigan in 1989.  Devere worked as a Park Manager for the Ontonagon Township Park for 22 years, was the sexton for the Holy Family Cemetery and had a firewood supply business.  Devere spoke often about memories of his younger years, operating the family farm in Silverwood, Michigan alongside his dad and brother.

Devere enjoyed spending time gardening, working around the house and spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren.

Devere is survived by his oldest son Jason Clinesmith, daughter-in-law Shannon (Tucker), three grandchildren, Karson, Kaelyn and Korbin Clinesmith, brother Dean Clinesmith (Janet Kratz), Nephew Damian Clinesmith, Niece Erin Clinesmith and Great Nephews Jordan and Michael Clinesmith.

Devere is preceded in death by his wife Becky, daughter April, youngest son Curtis and parents Cecil and Elaine Clinesmith.

Celebration of Devere and Becky's life will follow in the Spring of 2025.  Joint burial will occur at the Holy Family Cemetery and arrangements are being made by Cane Funeral Home. An expression of sympathy may be considered directly to the family.
