Donald R. Arvo 79 of Greenland passed away September 28, 2010 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital's Long Term Care Unit.

He was born December 09, 1930 in Painesdale MI. Donald grew up in the Copper Country area. After serving in the Army, he returned to the Detroit area where he met and married Ellen Mae Johnson. They had been married for 58 years.

They moved to Greenland where they raised 4 children, David (Sharon) of South Lyon, MI, Linda of Westland, MI, Bill of Livonia, MI and Patty (Jeff) Miller of Lakeside, CA. Donald also adored his four grandchildren Amber & Kirk of Burlington, NC and Zachary & Noah of South Lyon, MI. He is also survived by his aunt Sylvia Lammie and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Donald retired from White Pine Copper Mine. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, golf, wood working and watching Tiger baseball.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, October 2nd at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mass City. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service.
