Donald F. McMaster, 90, of Portage, Indiana passed away on March 22, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona.

Donald was born in Manistique, Michigan to Eugene and Nina McMaster (Gerard) on November 19, 1927.  He went to school in Rockland, MI.  He married Dorothy G. McMaster (Luokka) on June 9, 1954 in Houghton, MI. He graduated from Michigan Tech in Houghton, MI.  He worked as a metallurgical engineer for U.S. Steel in Gary, IN and as a quality control supervisor for General Motors in La Grange, IL until his retirement in 1993.  He was a veteran and served in the Air Force and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and the American Theater Service Medal.   He was a long time member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Valparaiso, IN.

Donald is survived by his children Sheryl Robinson (Bradley), Colleen Dikert (Vid), and Donald F. McMaster Jr. (Rhonda), sister Patricia Ray (Robert), five grandchildren Bryan Robinson (Melissa), Cori Friggle (William), Tyler McMaster, Joey McMaster, Melissa Dikert and four great-grandchildren (Isaac, Ella, Aubrey, and Nora).

Donald is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Dorothy G. McMaster, his parents Eugene and Nina McMaster, and 3 brothers (Eugene, Robert, and John).

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 19 at 12:00 at St. Mary's Church in Rockland, MI.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., May 19 at St. Mary's Church.    Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland. Arrangements are by Cane Funeral Home.
