A memorial service for Dora Skurr who died in October, 2007 will be held at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon on Thursday, July 3rd at 2 p.m.

Dora was born November 15, 1914, the youngest of 11 children in Bruce Crossing. She was preceded in death by her husband John Skurr and parents, John Z. & Katherine A. (Bjornstrom) Benstrom. She was also preceded in death by four sisters; Gertrude Moll, Martha Hatfield, Eleanor "Nora" Sitar and Geste Benstrom, 2 brothers; Russell & Norman and 6 other siblings that died at birth or as small children before Dora was born.

Dora and John were married in Ontonagon in 1943. They moved to flint in 1`952 and after John's retirement several years later, they moved back to Ontonagon. Dora lived in Cane Court for several years before moving to Long Term Care in 2001 where she lived until her death.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Long Term Care for the excellent care given to Dora during her stay there. After the services, a lunch will be served at the Northwood Candlelight Inn.
