Dorothy A. "Dode" Nuorala, 79 of Ewen passed away March 17, 2014 at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born July 23, 1934 in Yankton, South Dakota to Harold and Dorothy Young. She graduated high school in Grand Rapids, MN in 1953 and married Jarlli "Chuck" Nuorala on April 4, 1953 in Wawina, MN.

Dode raised six children. She loved being home and helping raise her grandchildren as well.

She is survived by her children Randy (Carla) Nuorala, Vicki Maki (Ron Salmer), Debby (Jim) Peura, Peggy Baldini and Wendy (Terry) Ambrosius; siblings Betty (Bill) Robertson, Bernie Johnson, Carol Whirley, Harold "Sonny" (Connie) Young, Jr. and Barb Johnson; grandchildren Nicki (Cory) Frisk, Kim (Joe) Manier, Katie (Steve) Bartanen, Brad Thomas, Brenda Thomas, Brian (Laura) Thomas, Crystal (Travis) Hall, Jennifer (Nick) Sanchez, Jered Baldini, Jamie (Matt) Besola, Casey Ambrosius, Lindsey Ambrosius and numerous great-grandchildren.

Dode was preceded in death by her husband in 1994, son Rick John, daughter Christy Lee and brother Ed.

A Memorial Service for Dode will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home – Bruce Crossing Chapel. Friends may call 30 minutes prior to the service. A graveside service will take place at a later date.
