Douglas Elmer Hendrickson 78 of White Pine passed away on February 24, 2009 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.

Dougie was born August 10, 1930 at Beacon Hill, MI to Alice (Stevens) and Albert Hendrickson. He married Anna E. Luokka on May 13, 1950.

Dougie worked at various jobs in the U.P. and Milwaukee, WI. He also worked at Carboloy and Keystone in the Detroit area.

Later he lived on a farm in the Mass City, MI area and worked at the Ontonagon Township Park until he retired in 1995. He moved to White Pine, MI in 1980 where he resided until his death.

He was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He enjoyed taking his children with him. He loved to go to camp, often including his grandchildren. He also loved to play games on the "POGO" site on the computer.

Survivors include his beloved wife Anna, three sons Mike, White Pine; David (Becky) Ontonagon; Jake (Patty) Calumet; two daughters Sandy Kotlaris, Ontonagon; Linda (Gordy) Thoreson White Pine; one sister Barb (Vern) Friend Warren, MI; one brother Donald (Sharon) Lewiston, MI; four grandchildren Chuck D. Kotlaris Nashville, TN; Patty (Jon) Ollila Ontonagon; Jenny (Lenny Immonen) Hendrickson White Pine; Linda Hendrickson Calumet and a special adopted grandson Timbre Hotchkiss Wisconsin; seven great grandchildren Shebly Hokans, Abby Olila, Anna Ollila, Kimmy, Matthew and Jonathon Immonen and Andrew Hendrickson. One sister-in-law Martha (the late Charlie) Parkin Ontonagon. Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Grandmother Exilda Stevens; his parents Alice and Albert Hendrickson; his oldest son Douglas Charles (Butchie); two grandsons Michael Paul Kotlaris and David Jason (DJ) Hendrickson; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon at 1:00 pm with visitation at 12:00 a
