Earl Bavin, Jr., 85, of Trout Creek passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital Long Term Care Unit.

He was born June 8, 1928 in Kalkaska, MI to Earl Sr. and Jennie (Wonsey) Bavin. On April 24, 1959 he married Linda (Pennock) Erskine in Union City, MI. Earl worked as a truck driver for many years, and was very active in the Watersmeet Bible Church where he served as greeter and usher. He was also a member of the Ottawa Lions Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Earl is survived by his wife, Linda; children Drew (Sara), Shirley Pratt, Ann (John) Pennock, Devis (Michael) Toll, Debra (Calvin) Allgaier and William (Veora) Erskine. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Sr. and Jennie; and siblings Clinton, Ora and Emma.

A Memorial Service for Earl will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. Eastern at the Watersmeet Bible Church. Friends may gather from 10 a.m. Eastern until the time of service. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Watersmeet Bible Church or charity of your choice.
